Marraige

Good news! I am at the top of the list of who Baby Girl wants to marry! =*) As are both of the twins, an older cousin (girl of course-her favorite sitter), Baby Boy and Daddy! When I told her she might want to move away and marry someone else, tears welled in her eyes and she was just in shock, answering with "No Momma!". It was just so dang sweet, it takes the zing away from her not so great whining moments! Ha! I've got a busy week. Today, work is getting in the way (what a nuisance!) and tomorrow, I've got pictures with the kids and then a lunch date with the in-laws! The nuisance stop on Thurs. and then Baby Boy's birthday is Friday! I'm hoping we can do something fun, we'll see!

It's still miserably cold here, snow was falling Sunday and I felt like I was falling in a downward spiral of the never ending winter. Can't a girl catch a break? We were teased with two days of beauty and back to crap? Now, I know this is what spring is, but seriously, I'd like a longer span of decent weather! Please!

Now we've got this crappy misty Seattle thing happening out there. It's just depressing looking out the window!

Baby Boy is in a funk. I'm hoping it's not a cold and perhaps it may be his teeth.

O Where Out Thou Beauty and the Beast!?

So I took Baby Girl to her first Easter Egg Hunt this past Sat. after swim class. She did great at the hunt! (Although she was very cold). Get this, she WON the golden ticket which was a basket of stuff' (mostly cheap stuff) and a $20 gift card to Target (cool). I made the mistake of asking her what she wanted and she said....."Belle Momma, I want the Princess Belle Movie".

Being a tad bit behind in my "Disney" knowledge, I went out to good ol' Target and proceeded to purchase what I thought was 'Beauty and the Beast'. Well, it was Beauty and the Beast, but lame clips, or short shows and not the whole movie......::shrug:: Who knew, except all of you who have already run into this.

So, my next avenue of thought is, Blockbuster will have it, and I call. Nope, they can't rent or sell anything that's in the vault. So I check ebay....there's a ton of them.....some at way too much money for a DVD. So a squabbled at the feet of family and friends and begged for a helping hand......Ahhhhhhh! I just can't stand that she spent money on something that was the wrong thing AND IT'S MY FAULT! BAWWWWWW! Bad, bad. bad Mommy!

On the good side Baby Boy is over his Roseola....did I say that earlier? Oh well! We're hoping to visit Nana and Papa N tomorrow as both kids 'appear' to be healthy, we'll leave the decision up to them though.....

Baby Boy's 1 year pictures are this Wed......1 YEAR WOW!!!!! That went FAST!

Basement Saga Continues

Nothing to report really, other than they tacked down the carpet today and will clean it tomorrow. As I type this, the sump just went on......it's like it's alive or something. Well, Baby Boy's 1st birthday party is at the end of the month. I'm very excited! It should be fun although we're short on people on husband's side of the family! = ( We will again miss Easter in St. Louis because husband doesn't want to drive 5-ish hours with two kids under 3.......he's weak in some ways! Ha!

Tomorrow should be fun, I'm meeting up with a friend, her two children & her mom, and another friend. I think Baby Boy's first trip to the mall. I don't have my stroller so I'm gonna have to umbrella stroller it and Baby Girl will have to walk, unless I want to brave it and lug along the humungous jogging stroller......not really looking forward to that.....We've got to get a sweater for Baby Girl's Easter dress (because it's to friggin cold here) and a whole outfit for Baby Boy, I'd like a new sweater or shirt, but that's not a priority!

The good news is, that we appear to be surviving financially......the bad news is, we haven't done anything for Baby Boy's party or for our July wedding trip......

That's all I've got for tonight. I need to vacuum the basement before they come and clean it in the morning. Oh the joys!

Basement Woes

Well, you knew it was too good to be true. I haven't been on the computer because our basement was out of commission and will be until, oh, this coming Sunday. You see, husband had the bright idea of only replacing the 'switch'-only on the sump pump. I seem to recall him telling me that he'd put in a new sump pump later......He replaced this switch a few weeks before Autumn's birthday party.......so we come to this past Wed. I almost always come down stairs in my slippers, it's a tad bit chilly, but not too bad (I'm always cold). So I get on-line and do my thing as Autumn is playing with her mountain of toys down here. She tells me she got her feet wet with her sippy cup. I tell her she can't play with her sippy cup and her feet. Her socks were soaking wet......still didn't kick in that something was wrong. So, she continued to tear a part a big 'ol alphabet book (one I was suckered into purchasing in front of Wal-Mart). On a side note, I promise to not buy that crap any more nor will I buy from door to door sales people. Anywho, I of course get upset she's now wasted a book and I go to throw the remnants of the book into the garbage in the unfinished part of the basement.....::splash, splash:: OMG! OMG! OMG! (I'm so lucky she thought I was saying Oh my gosh!) The sump wasn't working, and hadn't been working and there was water EVERYWHERE! The carpet was soaked. Somebody remind me to thank her! Ha!

I call Husband. (You know he's totally unhappy). He asked me to go downstairs and check to see if the sump was working. I move the sump cover and it kicks on, sucking gallons after many gallons of water. The water continues to poor into the pit and the pump at first can't catch up, but eventually does. It is just pouring in from the outside foundation of the house....What a nightmare! Yuck! Soooooooo, here we are the following Mon. The carpet has been dried with two big fans and a big dehumidifier......the carpet guy is coming to stretch the carpet back on Thurs. and the carpet won't be cleaned til Fri. and hopefully we can get the room back together by Sunday. Really, all the toys from the basement are currently in the living room....now THAT'S A NIGHTMARE! What a mess!!!! The cost of this 'saving' of the carpet that's two years old will be just a couple hundred dollars short of replacing the whole thing. (This is the carpet that the cat wee'd on a few times before we put him down. He was 15 years old and I couldn't take the smell, nor chance of him continuing to do it. Sorry buddy. Although the smell wasn't as bad as the skunk who got stuck in our window well and decided to spray. Now that was some good dry-heaving! WRETCH!!!!)

On the good side I've crossed a few more items off my list this week and past weekend. I got new glasses, went to Dr. appointment, dropped off food at the church pantry, dropped off toys/baby stuff at brother and sister-in-laws and got some of the toys we no longer have room for, nor want to store anymore, in a box in my car. Granted it's in my car, but out of the house. What a total F-up!

So I used my company's annual spring BBQ this past Fri. as an excuse to partake in a wee bit more inebriating beverages than I typically would and had BAby Boy not been sick with roseola, it would've been lovely. Really, I only suffered lack of sleep on Sat. No hangover to speak of......Hooray for me! I tasted beer for the first time in a long time that night, can I just say....ICK!? I think I've now turned old. I went for Miller Lite and ended up with the Merlot......Onto Baby Boy, He had a fever WEd. that ended on Sat and topped off with a lovely rash that's still here........uuugggghhhh!

In an attempt to gather my boot straps and get some work done today I went to my folks to work on a project.....that went HORRIBLY as their computer wasn't working the best and the program I use was no longer able to read my report.........another wasted day.

So this evening, I jerry-rigged (I know that's not how it's spelled but I'm too tired) my makeshift work station in the back room of the basement. It's cold and the furnace and computer are noisy, but I'm on-line and together!

Speaking of the report. I've gotta go!

Oh, did I mention the new sump only cost $125 and took all of 10 minutes to put in?!?!?!?!? I'm irritated by the whole thing!

Good News

Well, one family medical concern has been resolved with good news. The lungs have infiltrate (they say scarring), the cause is unknown, but is not cancerous. Hooray! Of course, a second opinion is recommended, so there's a touch of 'maybe' but probably the infiltrate will remain a non concern.

The second family medical concern results will come at the end of the month........that's much more scary as cancer is already there.

Yesterday, my daughter was insistent on teaching me patience. She is pretty pout-y these days and has learned how to stamp her feet, fold her arms in a huff and say, 'No!' After first getting angry, I quickly realized she needs some attention and she's trying to find out who she is (and how much pull she has). Husband and I surprisingly banded together. Hooray!

She usually is 'unrulely' (if I can even call it that) if she is tired. This weekend I learned that she's likely to wake up several times the night of just having been to a family party. She hasn't learned how to wind down. The first time she woke I now know she wasn't really awake cause she couldn't answer me when I asked what was wrong. I now know to talk to her about happy, friendly, familiar things that I know will put her at ease, " Jake,Dora, Nana, Papa, Amber & Aubrey, etc.", so at least she can go back to sleep. I'm ashamed that I was mad at first, but I was so tired as it was a long party with just me only there. Husband was working. Lame excuse, I know.

Husband had his last 'long' over-time day this past Sat. A few hours this Sat. and that's it.....darn! Ut oh, I stink at scheduling. O'kay, here's what I've done. I signed up Autumn for swim classes on Sat @ 8:15 am, the class ends at 8:50 am. I have a Dr. appointment at 9:00 am, 30 minutes away. Husband, I think, is supposed to go to his last day of over-time this Sat.......arghhhh! I'm sure he'll appreciate knowing this (he takes changes so calmly......Ha!), but at least I can go with him at the start of the class and then run to my own appointment......ahhhhhh! Worst case scenario, Jake goes with me to Dr. and Autumn goes to class with Nana or Papa.......

Lazy Winter Day

Being home part-time and having husband work at a school, he and I are off more days together than usual. Remember all those lame school 'holidays'....Kasmir Pulaski, MLK (sorry, but kids moslty look at it as a free day off). His over-time ends shortly, which will be missed monetarily, but not so much physically. Yesterday he was home (other than a building check) and today he's home (other than the building check). He could have someone else do it, but since it's a holiday, it's double time.......The cruddy part is that it takes 40 min. to get there, he's got to be there an hour or an hour and a half and then 40 minutes to come back home. It's a 3 hour event. So that pretty much stinks, unless he has someone else do it. I can tell you this, he appears to be more relaxed now that I'm a part-timer....at least it seems that way.....

I blew the weekly budget yesterday......DARN Easter baskets! Darn Baby Boy's 1st birthday! ; ) But I can return a few items, but I just couldn't recall if I had some things or not and I didn't want to waste the trip.

Whilest I was shopping, Husband forgot to start the roast(he wasnt' sleeping or anything, just tuned into the TV and tuned out of the rest of the world).......so we ended up eating pizza ordered out. Now, normally I don't really care, but $27 for a pizza is too much of our weekly food budget, so that's gonna go out the door soon. My Brother and Sister in law had a party for my nephew and got pizzas at Wal-Mart (Super WalMart), they were only $10 each and they were actually quite good. So, I think next Friday, I will try shopping at Super WalMart, two towns over.....woo hoo! I know, can't you feel the excitement?!?!?

Today I was supposed to visit the in-laws, but my kids were so dirty and I wasn't sure if baby girl was sneezing because of a cold, or the general dust level in the house.....So, for now, we'll wait on that. Besides, it was a lazy morning. Baby Girl didn't come and wake me up til 7:00 am and Baby Boy didn't wake up til 7:15 am! WOW! What a wonderful gift! It almost makes me cry!

Quite a lame entry today......I'm sure the next one will have a better biatch! Ha!
