Shoes!

Okay, following after a fellow blogger, Jacob will now be known as "Handsome" and Autumn will be "Sweet Pea"......I had started out somewhat anonymous, but faltered and I think it'd just be better if I did that.

Back to today. Today, was a busy day, I got two hours of working on a report in this morning, then mowed the lawn, then shopping. Handsome got his first pair of REAL shoes today! Wait, let's do the math. Yes, he's 15 months old, but let me explain. That boy has odd feet. I don't know if they are flat feet, or if they are "thick" from the floor to the top of his foot. I was completely relieved when the woman helping us was super sweet and slipped those new shoes on like no body's business! So, he's a size 3.5. It's not like I haven't tried to put shoes on him, but I had to go to Striderite, the expensive ones, for his first. I'm glad I did, but my pocketbook is not......Sweet Pea's original shoes were a size 2.......I've got a picture of her first shoe excursion, due to Nanarazzi. I also now have Handsome's first shoe excursion!

Oh, I also spent an extra $6.50 on a shirt from Janie and Jack's...SCORE!!!...I couldn't help myself! Also purchased Father's Day gift.... A light for the grill. It get attached to the handle..... I'll report back on that. Although Husband is a low-maintenance man, when it comes to clothes and gifts, he's high maintenance. Not that what I have to purchase has to be expensive or name brand, but he's just so dang picky!

He looks at me like I"m nuts when I say he's high maintenance....there's other reasons too, but there isn't enough time in one night! ::wink::

Basement Saga Continues

Nothing to report really, other than they tacked down the carpet today and will clean it tomorrow. As I type this, the sump just went on......it's like it's alive or something. Well, Baby Boy's 1st birthday party is at the end of the month. I'm very excited! It should be fun although we're short on people on husband's side of the family! = ( We will again miss Easter in St. Louis because husband doesn't want to drive 5-ish hours with two kids under 3.......he's weak in some ways! Ha!

Tomorrow should be fun, I'm meeting up with a friend, her two children & her mom, and another friend. I think Baby Boy's first trip to the mall. I don't have my stroller so I'm gonna have to umbrella stroller it and Baby Girl will have to walk, unless I want to brave it and lug along the humungous jogging stroller......not really looking forward to that.....We've got to get a sweater for Baby Girl's Easter dress (because it's to friggin cold here) and a whole outfit for Baby Boy, I'd like a new sweater or shirt, but that's not a priority!

The good news is, that we appear to be surviving financially......the bad news is, we haven't done anything for Baby Boy's party or for our July wedding trip......

That's all I've got for tonight. I need to vacuum the basement before they come and clean it in the morning. Oh the joys!

Lazy Winter Day

Being home part-time and having husband work at a school, he and I are off more days together than usual. Remember all those lame school 'holidays'....Kasmir Pulaski, MLK (sorry, but kids moslty look at it as a free day off). His over-time ends shortly, which will be missed monetarily, but not so much physically. Yesterday he was home (other than a building check) and today he's home (other than the building check). He could have someone else do it, but since it's a holiday, it's double time.......The cruddy part is that it takes 40 min. to get there, he's got to be there an hour or an hour and a half and then 40 minutes to come back home. It's a 3 hour event. So that pretty much stinks, unless he has someone else do it. I can tell you this, he appears to be more relaxed now that I'm a part-timer....at least it seems that way.....

I blew the weekly budget yesterday......DARN Easter baskets! Darn Baby Boy's 1st birthday! ; ) But I can return a few items, but I just couldn't recall if I had some things or not and I didn't want to waste the trip.

Whilest I was shopping, Husband forgot to start the roast(he wasnt' sleeping or anything, just tuned into the TV and tuned out of the rest of the world).......so we ended up eating pizza ordered out. Now, normally I don't really care, but $27 for a pizza is too much of our weekly food budget, so that's gonna go out the door soon. My Brother and Sister in law had a party for my nephew and got pizzas at Wal-Mart (Super WalMart), they were only $10 each and they were actually quite good. So, I think next Friday, I will try shopping at Super WalMart, two towns over.....woo hoo! I know, can't you feel the excitement?!?!?

Today I was supposed to visit the in-laws, but my kids were so dirty and I wasn't sure if baby girl was sneezing because of a cold, or the general dust level in the house.....So, for now, we'll wait on that. Besides, it was a lazy morning. Baby Girl didn't come and wake me up til 7:00 am and Baby Boy didn't wake up til 7:15 am! WOW! What a wonderful gift! It almost makes me cry!

Quite a lame entry today......I'm sure the next one will have a better biatch! Ha!
